Ash Chemistry Seminar-Chemical Looping
Ash Chemistry Seminar-Chemical Looping
Welcome dear friends! This channel shows parts of the video recordings for an international virtual seminar on 25-26th May, 2021, organized by the Chemical Looping group at Chalmers University of Technology. The topic is "Role of ash chemistry in Chemical Looping with biomass". The seminar´s organizers are Prof. Tobias Mattisson and Dr. Daofeng Mei and the moderator is Dr. Carl Linderholm.
Here is the background of the seminar: Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) with biomass has potential for huge cost-reductions in the progress to negative emissions, while ash compounds (such as K and Na alkalis) open both opportunities and challenges. Interactions of ash and oxygen carriers could lead to operational difficulties. But if aggressive ash components are mainly concentrated in the CLC fuel reactor effluent, the posttreatment difficulties will be greatly alleviated, and the air reactor could be free from these components. Decoding the role of ash is essential for CLC with biomass!
